From start to finish, all 4U2ReUSE bag carriers are made with sustainability in mind. Each bag carrier is hand made in Los Angeles out of eco-friendly, organic fabrics, often reused from products and derivatives that would have otherwise ended up in landfills.

Sustainable fabric doesn’t just mean recycled materials and plant-based fibers. It means reusing environmentally friendly packaging. Reducing manufacturing and operational waste and pollution. Cutting back on energy consumption in the manufacturing process. Moving toward the use of renewable energy. Improving shipping and transportation efficiencies. And, of course, designing sustainability into the use of the products made from that fabric.

Currently, the materials used in our bag carriers come from hemp, hemp/organic cotton mixes, used kites, used parachutes, or used vintage fabrics. As a result, no two bag carriers look the same, even when cut from the same piece of cloth. Most of the materials we use are purchased from local companies in L.A., where the bags are cut and sewn, hence cutting down on unnecessary shipping.

After her kite board sail ripped while riding one sunny day, 4U2ReUSE founder Bibi Rogers discovered that non-repairable kites are thrown into the garbage. Since then, Bibi has arranged for the reusing of defective kites from Florida-based kite board sail company Best Kite Boarding into many of 4U2ReUSE bag carriers.

Though reused or recycled, all of our materials are painstakingly washed for preparation prior to manufacturing, each bag carrier must meet the same stringent standards of quality.

Our line consists of The Ridley, The Kemp’s and The Olive, all of which derive their names from the world’s smallest, most endangered sea turtles.
